Sometimes, but OLX decides which numbers it accepts, and many OLX sites require a local number. OLX Portugal says its verification number must be Portuguese, and OLX India asks for a 10-digit Indian number. If you rent an SMS Hallo real mobile number from the right country and the code never arrives, you can swap the number free within 7 days or get a 100% refund if it does not work with OLX.
How OLX verifies your number
OLX runs separate sites for different countries, and each has its own help center and rules. On OLX Portugal, the help center says you are asked to verify your account by SMS when you post your first ad. You enter your mobile number, receive an SMS code within a few minutes, and type it into the verification window. The page states that the number used for verification must be Portuguese.
OLX Portugal adds that the code usually arrives within a minute but can take up to half an hour. One mobile number can verify one OLX account. If the number was already used to verify another account, you see a message saying so, and a number from a deleted account can be used again exactly 30 days after deletion.
On OLX India, the help center says you create an account in the OLX app by entering your 10-digit active phone number, receiving an OTP and entering it to sign in. OLX India warns that you should never share your OTP with anyone, including people claiming to be OLX staff.
Because the rules are set country by country, check the help center of the OLX site you use. SMS Hallo is for your own account and ads; our Acceptable Use Policy forbids fake listings, multiple accounts and scams.
