A real phone number for PlayStation
Your account for PlayStation controls your console, PlayStation Store purchases and wallet, so PlayStation encourages 2-step verification. A long-term number you control is a practical place for those codes. Because SMS Hallo numbers are not tied to a physical SIM card, you can read the code in a browser even if your phone is lost, broken or replaced. SMS Hallo gives you a real mobile number in the country of your choice, so you can create and secure your PlayStation account without sharing your personal number.
The PlayStation code lands in your SMS Hallo inbox within seconds and is ready to copy with one tap. Because you keep the number for as long as you like, you can always receive new login codes and recover your account later.
Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 calling minutes a month, plus unlimited incoming calls, from just $1.80 a month (billed yearly).
And it's risk-free: if the number doesn't work with PlayStation, replace it free within 7 days or get a 100% refund.

Yes, for text-message 2-step verification. PlayStation lets you receive 2-step verification codes by SMS, and an SMS Hallo real mobile number receives them in your dashboard. How PlayStation verifies your number
You create an account for PlayStation with an email address as your sign-in ID. A mobile number is used for 2-step verification (2SV), an optional security layer: after you enter your sign-in ID and password on a console, computer or phone, PlayStation asks for a unique verification code. You can receive that code by text message or from an authenticator app such as Authy, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. 2SV is optional, but PlayStation strongly encourages it because the account also controls your wallet and payment details.
You can switch on 2SV in Account Management under Security, or on the console: on PS5 under Settings, Users and Accounts, Security, 2-Step Verification, and on PS4 under Settings, Account Management, Account Information, Security. Choose Text Message, enter your mobile number, type the code you receive and select Activate. PlayStation then shows backup codes that you should record. You can change the verification method later by deactivating 2SV and reactivating it with the method you prefer.
PlayStation says the code is valid for 10 minutes and that you use 2SV when you first sign in after turning it on, after you sign out manually, when you reset your password and when you change your sign-in ID or online ID. PlayStation also offers passkeys as an alternative sign-in method on supported devices.
If you lose access to your 2SV number, you can still sign in with one of your 10 backup codes, each usable once. Without backup codes or access to the number, PlayStation asks you to contact support through its Online Assistant to restore access. That is why the number you choose should be one you can keep. If you have used most of your backup codes, turning 2SV off and on again gives you a fresh set.
How to verify PlayStation with an SMS Hallo number
- Rent a number — Choose a real mobile number on SMS Hallo from the country where you live and pay with USDT or USDC. You can pay from your SMS Hallo wallet or directly for the number; the payment window shows the exact amount, the address or QR code and a 10-minute countdown, so send the exact amount on the network you picked.
- Open 2-Step Verification — Sign in to Account Management and select Security, then select Edit next to 2-step Verification Status, or use your PS5 or PS4 settings. On PS5 the path is Settings, Users and Accounts, Security, 2-Step Verification; on PS4 it is Settings, Account Management, Account Information, Security, 2-Step Verification.
- Choose Text Message — Select Text Message as the verification method and enter your SMS Hallo number with the correct country. Use the international format with the country code so the text reaches the right network.
- Activate with the code — Copy the code from your SMS Hallo inbox, enter it within 10 minutes and select Activate. If the code expires before you enter it, select Resend Code and use the newest message.
- Save your backup codes — Record the backup codes PlayStation shows and turn on auto-renew for the number in SMS Hallo. Store the backup codes offline, for example on paper, not in a screenshot on the same console.
Troubleshooting PlayStation verification
The code does not arrive
Select Resend Code and allow a few minutes. If nothing arrives, swap the number free within 7 days or request a 100% refund if it doesn't work with PlayStation.
Code expired
Codes are valid for 10 minutes. Select Resend Code on the sign-in screen and enter the newest message from your inbox.
The number is not accepted during setup
PlayStation decides which numbers it accepts. Check the country and number format, then use the free replacement within 7 days if needed.
Lost access to the number
Sign in with one of your 10 backup codes, then turn 2SV off and on again with a number you can keep. Without backup codes, contact PlayStation through its Online Assistant.
Wrong password message on Google TV
PlayStation says you cannot sign in on Google TV while 2SV is on. Turn 2SV off to sign in there and turn it back on afterwards.
Unexpected 2SV messages
If you get 2SV codes you did not request, someone may know your password. Change your password right away, and contact PlayStation through its Online Assistant if you cannot change your sign-in method.
Which country to choose for PlayStation
Pick a number from the country where you live and where your account for PlayStation is registered. That keeps your contact details consistent if you ever need PlayStation support to confirm your identity. A phone number does not change your account region or PlayStation Store, and it should not be used for that. No country is certain to be accepted, so the free replacement and refund cover you. If you travel often, keep your home-country number renewed; you can read incoming texts in the SMS Hallo dashboard from anywhere with an internet connection.
