A real phone number for Reddit
Many people keep their Reddit activity separate from their real identity and prefer not to tie the account to their personal SIM or main email, so a second real mobile number they control is a practical choice. Because SMS Hallo is private, only you see the messages that reach the number while you rent it, unlike free public receive-SMS sites whose inboxes anyone can read. Sign-up on SMS Hallo needs only an email and a password, with no SIM card, ID documents or local address. SMS Hallo gives you a real mobile number in the country of your choice, so you can create and secure your Reddit account without sharing your personal number.
The Reddit code lands in your SMS Hallo inbox within seconds and is ready to copy with one tap. Because you keep the number for as long as you like, you can always receive new login codes and recover your account later.
Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 calling minutes a month, plus unlimited incoming calls, from just $1.80 a month (billed yearly).
And it's risk-free: if the number doesn't work with Reddit, replace it free within 7 days or get a 100% refund.

Yes, where Reddit offers phone sign-up. Reddit lets you create an account with a phone number, a Google or Apple account, or an email address; in eligible locations, the phone option sends a one-time verification code by text, which an SMS Hallo real mobile number receives in your dashboard. Reddit decides which numbers it accepts, so if the code never arrives you can swap the number free within 7 days or get a 100% refund.
How Reddit verifies your number
Reddit's help center lists three ways to sign up: with a phone number, through a Google or Apple account, or with an email address. You can start on reddit.com by choosing Log In and then Sign up, or in the iOS and Android apps. Reddit says the phone option is available in certain eligible locations, and you must be at least 13, or older where local law requires. Signing up with Google or Apple or with email doesn't involve a phone number at all, so the number is optional on Reddit.
When you add or change a phone number, Reddit sends a message with a verification code that you enter to confirm the number. You can add, update or remove the number from Settings on reddit.com or in the mobile apps.
Accounts created with only a phone number have a few extra steps. Reddit encourages you to add an email address because it helps with account recovery, and says you must add an email before you can set a password; Reddit then emails you a link to verify the address and create the password.
Reddit's two-factor authentication doesn't use text messages. Its help center explains that after your password you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app, that 2FA applies only when you log in with a password (Google and Apple logins use their own 2FA), that you set it up from a computer's web browser, and that backup codes let you in if you lose your phone. In other words, the phone number on a Reddit account is used to sign up and confirm the account, not for 2FA.
How to verify Reddit with an SMS Hallo number
- Choose a country — Pick the country where you live. Phone sign-up is available in eligible locations, so if it isn't offered to you, sign up with email instead.
- Rent the number — Rent a real mobile number on SMS Hallo and pay with USDT or USDC. Plans start from $1.80 per month on the 12-month plan, the same in every country.
- Choose phone sign-up — On reddit.com or in the app, choose Sign up, pick the phone number option and enter the number with its country code. You can also start from the Reddit app, which prompts you to choose a sign-up method when you open it.
- Enter the code — Copy the one-time code from your SMS Hallo inbox with one tap. Keep the sign-up screen open until the code arrives.
- Add email and 2FA — Add an email address in Settings, set a password, turn on 2FA with an authenticator app, and switch on auto-renew for the number. Reddit says 2FA can only be turned on from a computer's web browser.
Troubleshooting Reddit verification
No code arrives
Wait a minute and request a new code once. If nothing arrives, swap the number free within 7 days or request a 100% refund.
No phone option shown
Reddit offers phone sign-up only in certain eligible locations. Sign up with email, then add the number later in Settings if the option is available.
Can't set a password
Reddit requires an email address before you can add a password to a phone-created account. Reddit then sends an email with a link to set the password.
Number already on another account
A rented number can have history. Use the free replacement within 7 days for another number. SMS Hallo's Acceptable Use Policy doesn't allow using numbers to create accounts in bulk or to return after a ban.
Code rejected
Use the newest code and enter it promptly. Older codes stop working once a new one is sent.
2FA codes don't come by SMS
That's expected: Reddit's 2FA uses an authenticator app, not text messages.
Which country to choose for Reddit
Choose the country where you live, since Reddit only offers phone sign-up in certain eligible locations and your account details should match you. If phone sign-up isn't shown, create the account with email instead. No country receives every code, so if one number doesn't work, use the 7-day replacement or the 100% refund. If you travel, you don't need a new number for each trip: your SMS Hallo inbox works in a browser wherever you are. Your Reddit username, not your number, is what other people see, so the country choice mainly affects which codes you can receive.
