Send SMS and make calls from your browser
SMS Hallo numbers are not receive-only. Every number includes 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing calling minutes per month, which you use from the send-SMS tool and the browser dialer in your dashboard. Incoming SMS and calls are unlimited.
Sending SMS
Open the send-SMS tool, enter the recipient's number in international format and type your message. It is sent from your SMS Hallo number, so the recipient sees that number and can reply to it. Replies arrive in your SMS inbox.
Each number includes 500 outgoing SMS every 30 days. The allowance resets every 30 days and unused messages do not roll over.
The browser dialer
The browser dialer lets you make and answer calls on your number from a web browser, with no SIM card or extra app. Allow microphone access when your browser asks, and use headphones for the clearest sound.
Incoming calls are unlimited. Outgoing calls use your allowance of 1,000 minutes every 30 days, which also resets every 30 days without rollover.
Because the dialer runs in the browser, you can take a call on a laptop at your desk and later check the same number from a phone browser. Your number, call log and inbox stay the same wherever you sign in.
Call log and usage meters
The call log lists incoming and outgoing calls with their time and duration, so you can see who tried to reach you. Usage meters show how many outgoing SMS and minutes you have left in the current period.
These tools are useful for freelancers and small businesses who want to keep track of client contact, and for anyone who wants to avoid running out of allowance at a bad moment.
What it is good for
Replying to customers or clients from a business number, calling a courier or host from a local number while travelling, answering a voice verification call, or returning a missed call without revealing your personal phone.
It is not a bulk messaging service. Send messages to people who expect to hear from you, follow local rules on marketing messages, and never use the number for spam, scams or harassment.
Price and guarantees
Outgoing allowances are included in the rental, which costs from $1.80 per month on the 12-month plan, the same in every country. Every rental also carries three guarantees: a free swap within 7 days (up to 3 times), a 100% refund within 7 days if the number does not work with the app it was rented for, and a no-questions full refund within 7 days if the number has not been used.
