Every SMS Hallo number comes with a private online SMS inbox that receives unlimited incoming messages. When a message contains a verification code, the inbox detects it and lets you copy it with one tap, so you can paste it straight into the app that asked for it.
How the inbox works
Messages sent to your number appear in the SMS inbox in your SMS Hallo dashboard. You can open it in any browser, on a computer or a phone, without a SIM card.
Incoming SMS are unlimited. Whether you receive one code a month or messages every day, there is no charge per incoming message.
The inbox shows ordinary text messages too, not only codes, so you can read replies from contacts, delivery notices and alerts in the same place.
One-tap code copy
Verification messages usually contain a short code of four to eight digits, sometimes with letters. The inbox detects these codes and shows a copy button next to them.
This saves time and avoids typos when you switch between tabs or devices. Codes normally expire after a few minutes, so copy and enter them promptly. If a code has expired, request a new one in the app and it will arrive in the same inbox.
Private by design
SMS Hallo is not a free public receive-SMS site. While you rent a number, only you can see its messages, and inboxes are never published.
Protect the inbox like any account that receives security codes: use a strong, unique password for your SMS Hallo account and never share codes with anyone who asks for them.
Tips when a code does not arrive
Check that you entered the number in international format, with + and the country calling code, and without the local trunk prefix if the country uses one. Wait a minute before tapping resend, because some apps limit how often codes can be requested.
If the app offers a voice call instead, use it: incoming calls are unlimited and can be answered in the browser dialer.
Guarantees
If the code never arrives, you are covered. Within 7 days you can swap to another number in the same country for free, up to 3 times. If the number does not work with the app you rented it for, you can request a 100% refund within 7 days. And if no call or SMS has been made or received, you can get a full refund within 7 days, no questions asked.
