How to Keep an Online Phone Number Long Term (Renewals and Expiry Explained)
To keep an online phone number long term, renew it before the rental ends or switch on auto-renew with enough wallet balance. If a number expires it can be reassigned, so renew any number your accounts depend on.
How rentals work
You rent a number for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. The 12-month plan has the lowest monthly price. You can extend at any time; the new period is added to the current one.
Auto-renew
Turn on auto-renew on the number's page. Shortly before the rental ends, it renews for the same length from your wallet balance. Keep enough balance so the renewal can go through.
What happens at expiry
When a rental ends, the number stops receiving messages and may later be rented to someone else. That's why accounts you care about should always use a number you keep renewed.
Moving an account to a new number
If you decide to stop using a number, first change the phone number inside each app (WhatsApp, Telegram, your email provider and so on) while you still control the old one.
